How Movies Get Nominated For Oscars

Around 50 to 60 movies are nominated every year for Academy Awards, and the process that goes into deciding these features and short films is a bit complicated. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is the organization responsible for the Oscars. It is made up of 17 different branches that account for various crafts, such as directing, cinematography, and costume design, and there are also two members-at-large groups for those who don’t fit into any of those categories. The Academy does not disclose an exact number, but there are around 10,000 members in its body.
