The O.C.: Why Was Kaitlin Cooper Play By Two Different Actors?

Kaitlin Cooper is a memorable character on The O.C., and there is a logical reason why she was portrayed by two actors throughout the teen drama's four-season run. Kaitlin is Marissa's (Mischa Barton) younger sister who appears in a few season 1 episodes, is talked about but doesn't appear onscreen in season 2, and becomes a main character in season 4 after Marissa's tragic death at the end of season 3. Although Kaitlin isn't as fleshed out as her sibling, she does leave an impression in the later part of her arc thanks to her rebellious behavior.
