Jordan Peele's 2022 horror Nope contains a myriad of disturbing yet unforgettable moments, but the Gordy's Home incident — starring the titular Gordy the Chimp — manages to stand out even in a movie with sentient UFOs and unexplained standing shoes. One of the most haunting scenes in the horror film follows a chimpanzee named Gordy as he goes on a violent rampage on a film set for the fictional sitcom series Gordy’s Home. While Gordy's Home and the Gordy monkey rampage is not officially directly based on true events, it was likely inspired by one real-life tragedy with which it draws many paralells.
