Picard’s 2 Big Borg Twists Were Done By Star Trek Voyager First

The two huge Borg twists from Star Trek: Picard season 2 and 3 were first done by Star Trek: Voyager over two decades earlier. Stranded in the Delta Quadrant, it was inevitable that the USS Voyager would encounter the Borg Collective, but the Voyager writers' room prolonged this for as long as possible. Rather than immediately throw Voyager into the path of a Borg Cube, the return of the Borg was gradually teased out across season 3.
