Warning: Spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy #4 The latest sacrifice within Guardians of the Galaxy echoes Groot's sacrifice from the 2014 MCU movie of the same name. In the comic, the Guardians have been going through a transitional period, so to speak. Following a still-mysterious breakup that happened a year ago, Rocket Raccoon and Groot exited the team. Groot left to become a galaxy-sucking monster that gives Galactus a run for his money, while Rocket went on to run his own town as the Star-Sheriff.
