During Vanderpump Rules season 10, before audiences were aware of Tom Sandoval cheating with James' ex, Rachel Leviss. James was frustrated with Schwartz because he kissed Rachel in Mexico during castmate Scheana Shay's wedding. When Sandoval's infidelity came to light, James then became furious with Tom for evidently covering up Sandoval's seven-month scandal and taking the fall for him since audiences eventually learned that his and Rachel's kiss was a set-up to distract from the fact that Sandoval was being unfaithful.
