The Strangers New Trilogy Is Risking What Made The Franchise's Masked Killers So Terrifying

The Strangers: Chapter 1 is set to launch a new trilogy of films based on the original 2008 cult classic, but the extension of the franchise could risk what made the film so scary in the first place. 2008's The Strangers was written and directed by Bryan Bertino, who also wrote the screenplay for 2018's The Strangers: Prey at Night, which is currently the only sequel of the horror franchise. Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Burn Notice) will direct all three entries of the upcoming Strangers franchise.
