One of the biggest twists in the second season of Lost was when Michael murdered Ana Lucia and Libby. Not only did this moment end Ana Lucia and Libby's run on the show, but it also turned Michael into a murderer, leaving a huge impact on all of Michael's future appearances on the show. As well as this, the act allowed Michael to betray the trust of Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley, leading them all into a trap set by The Others, while Michael was given a boat off the island, setting up the plot for the show's third season.
