Video game adaptations to the big screen have often been seen as misfires, though that has changed in recent years. The Super Mario movie from the '90s, the disappointment that was Silent Hill and its sequel, and the cheesy (but kind of lovable) Street Fighter were all met with poor reviews and put people off on further adaptations.
