Be it the rising concerns over what AI and newer technologies will mean for the humans working in these fields or—certainly in the United States—an increasingly stressful economic situation on a national level, there is plenty of uncertainty when it comes to job security, and that has, at times, meant massive budget cuts and sweeping layoffs.
