Michael Bay is officially returning to Transformers after nine years away, and the franchise had no other choice but to circle back around to him. The director was responsible for helming the first five live-action Transformers movies after being hand-picked by Steven Spielberg to bring the iconic 80s IP to the big screen again. The result was over $4 billion at the box office as audiences flocked to his action-heavy films.
